The owner is a design and architectural enthusiast, and he was based in Los Angeles when he found us online. He requested for the modern, luxurious feel he experienced where his celebrity friends lived in ultra-luxurious homes. We crafted a sense of luxury that would not overpower the elegance and quietude of Kengo Kuma’s design concept for the villas.
In terms of material palette, we formulated a combination of deep, dark materials for a classy bachelor pad. Ebony, tinted mirror, effects paint and wallpaper served to imbue texture and evoke a sensuous ambiance. The client especially liked wood but with a touch of Zen. While we kept most of the original layout intact, we moved walls to open up the dry kitchen and overhauled with a Valcucine dry kitchen unit. The result is an airy space where the areas blend fluidly into one another. Warm lighting complements the marble for a soft look while the dark wood paneling evokes a masculine and intimate atmosphere in the entertainment room. This design was highly commended in the Asia Pacific Property Awards.
